Book Review #9: The Iron Daughter (The Iron Fey #2)

The Iron Daughter (The Iron Fey #2)

Review By: Cookiemonstr

Half summer faery[sic] princess, half human, Meghan has never fit in anywhere. Deserted by the Winter prince she thought loved her, she is prisoner to the Winter faery[sic] queen. As war looms between Summer and Winter, Meghan knows that the real danger comes from the Iron fey—ironbound faeries that only she and her absent prince have seen. But no one believes her.

Worse, Meghan's own fey powers have been cut off. She's stuck in Faery[sic] with only her wits for help. Trusting anyone would be foolish. Trusting a seeming traitor could be deadly. But even as she grows a backbone of iron, Meghan can't help but hear the whispers of longing in her all-too-human heart.
I would have to say this book was my favorite out of all of them. Sadly, Meghan was a little naive in this one, but only in the beginning. Oh, and if you read the first book read the Winters Passage. All you have to do is search Winters Passage pdf. Back to the review...after Meghan saves her brother, Ash, he takes her to Mab. Of course Ash warned her that he would have to pretend not to like her, but of course when he acted all cold blooded she thought he abandoned her. I mean, like, did you not remember the conversation you had with him?! So, to reassure you guys Ash did not abandon Meghan
So Meghan becomes butt hurt. Ash on the other hand is very much in love with her.
Okay there is a tiny-very tiny- love triangle, but I wouldn't count it as one because Ash kind of broke it off with Meghan because they were on two different sides. Don't worry there is still some...heat between Ash and Meghan. Puck i'm happy to say is the other guy in this love triangle.
Now to more important matters. The Iron fey come in tow and steal something from Queen Mab. Mab throws a hissy fit when Meghan says it wasn't the summer fey who stole from her, but the Iron fey. Mab freezes Meghan and goes off to have a war with Meghan's father.

Ash saves Meghan and tries to take her back home. Puck comes back!!!!
I'll stop there so I wont spoil anything. But at the end you be all like

Book Review #8: The Iron King (The Iron Fey #1)

The Iron King (The Iron Fey #1)

by

Review by: Cookiemonstr

Meghan Chase has a secret destiny; one she could never have imagined.

Something has always felt slightly off in Meghan's life, ever since her father disappeared before her eyes when she was six. She has never quite fit in at school or at home.

When a dark stranger begins watching her from afar, and her prankster best friend becomes strangely protective of her, Meghan senses t
hat everything she's known is about to change.

But she could never have guessed the truth - that she is the daughter of a mythical faery king and is a pawn in a deadly war. Now Meghan will learn just how far she'll go to save someone she cares about, to stop a mysterious evil, no faery creature dare face; and to find love with a young prince who might rather see her dead than let her touch his icy heart.

Okay I know your probably thinking it might be stupid because of the faeries, but it's not like this
More like this
 IRONFETY2
I loved that it wasn't like the Tinker Bell stuff, but it was all kick butt faeries. After her father disappears her mom remarries and she has a baby boy, Ethan. Ethan gets captured by Iron Fey and Meghan finds out her prankster best friend is the one and only PUCK! I love puck so much, but I love Ash much more. Meghan finds out her mother had an affair with a feary king, Oberon, and that's her real father. She sees Ash several times in the beginning of the book who is the young prince (who is not that young, but hundreds of years old) I was talking about. Meghan was one of the best female characters in all the YA books I've read (The girls in the YA books are getting stupider and stupider). Meghan's brave and smart, but sometimes a little Naive (only in the second book though). She handled things really well and didn't do stupid things. Puck was one of my Favorite Characters. He was funny and very talkative- which I love about him- he was Meghans best friend her whole life, but he kept the very small secret that he was a feary and so was she, from her.

That is my favorite quote. Now Ash, He is kind of like a super emo winter prince, but something happened in his past to make him that way. Winter fey are supposed to be evil and show now emotion type, some aren't though. Ash is one of the main characters (and best) in all the books. He even has is own book. At first Ash feels a little intrigued by Meghan, but doesn't really act on it. So when his Mother, Queen Mab, Asks for Meghan he goes after her. But Meghan makes a contract with him so he would help her get her brother and then she would go to Mab. As Puck, Meghan, and Ash search for Ethan, Meghan and Ash become closer and closer until they kiss. Now, Ash and Meghan are on to different sides and they are not allowed to fall in love.

Darn it!

This book is a must read and if you already read it you should read this: The first Kiss. Its the part where Meghan and Ash kiss, but In Ashes prov. Just search up this: The First Kiss Iron fey pdf.

Book Review #7 All the Bright Places

All the Bright Places

Review by: Cookiemonstr

Theodore Finch is fascinated by death, and he constantly thinks of ways he might kill himself. But each time, something good, no matter how small, stops him.

Violet Markey lives  for the future, counting the days until graduation, when she can escape her Indiana town and her aching grief in the wake of her sister’s recent death.

When Finch and Violet meet on the ledge of the bell tower at school, it’s unclear who saves whom. And when they pair up on a project to discover the “natural wonders” of their state, both Finch and Violet make more important discoveries: It’s only with Violet that Finch can be himself—a weird, funny, live-out-loud guy who’s not such a freak after all. And it’s only with Finch that Violet can forget to count away the days and start living them. But as Violet’s world grows, Finch’s begins to shrink.

This book was truly fantastic. I loved Finch and Violet, and their relationship. This book is funny and sad ( that's understatement, it's depressing). It really gets you thinking about suicide, and how if you know about someone having thoughts of killing themselves you should tell and try to help them. While reading this book I was on a emotional roller coaster. I remember reading this next to Moo Moo Cow and got mad and yelled out kids are evil. And kids can be evil. Finch is bullied (which is kind of weird because he seems like a really cool person) and depressed. His father left his mom for another women and her kid. Finches Dad Abuses him, And I just get so mad thinking about that. It's like

Very bad things should happen to people who Abuse their kids. Violet helps Finch be a little happier. Violet likes the real Finch and that's very good for him, you know. This is kind of like a true story. The Author loved this boy and unfortunately he kills him self. *Sniffs* Even though this book will make like this
Yeah that sad. When you finish the book you'll be so sad the when you read the last page of the acknowledgements you'll be like this
For hours. Don't let that make you not want to read the book though, it's too good not to read. Okay I better go before I start crying from thinking about how sad this is.

Rook Review #6: Maximum Ride: The Angel Experiment

(Just for copyright reasons, all the summaries of these books are from www.goodreads.com.)

Maximum Ride: The Angel experiment

Review by Moo Moo Cow

Six unforgettable kids — with no families, no homes — are running for their lives. Max Ride and her best friends have the ability to fly. And that's just the beginning of their amazing powers. But they don't know where they come from, who's hunting them, why they are different from all other humans... and if they're meant to save mankind — or destroy it.

First off, the summary is kind of sucky. It doesn't really describe anything and personally, I don't really have experience with sci-fi and when my trusty book reviewer, CookieMonstr (let's just call her Toni, far too lazy to say her whole name.) told me, well more like forced me to read this, I was just like,

But once I read it, I was like:

Secondly, I love the way these kids have like a little family like us, Toni, Choco, and me! It's just so cute! AAAH

Next, Max is so amazing. She's so bad butt and yet, she's an asshole. She's so freaking OVERPROTECTIVE, I swear. I want to slap her at some times, like when she kisses Fang out of nowhere. WTF, Max? Excuse my crude language. Then again, I would have done the same if my crush/brother/best friend.
Also, Max and Fang do make a super freaking good couple.

UPDATEEE:::

I'm going to go cry now: 9 just came out!

Have a great amazing day! Hope you like this review!

Book Review # 5: Onyx (Lux Novel #2)

Onyx (Lux #2)

not everyone will survive the lies…

Okay that up there scared me. The second book of the Lux series was Good, but not as good as the others. Even though katy was a little dense in this one. I mean when a dude who looks like that:

Really wants to date you and freaking saved your life for craps sake, you date the dude. Katy has the idea that the bond she has with daemon is the only reason he likes her. That's stupid because even before the bond Daemon liked you!!! He even freaking Said it!!!!! Okay he was mean, but he was just trying to protect his family and you. The even more annoying part is Katy would make out with him and after she's like I'm not attracted to him. UGH!!!!!! That's not all, Katy wont listen to Daemon about Not trusting Blake and at the end you be all like. *Shakes head* You should have listen to the Hot Alien!!!

Now, I must warn you....There will be a small love triangle.

I know right, so annoyed. Blake, the other guy, is like... you know what, let's just say there are no bad enough words for him. Lets see, what else....Oh There's more Daemon!! I just love him!!! His nice in this one so you get to see his soft side a little bit. In this book they just have problems with the DOD and stuff. I can't really talk about it because I would spoil it. So the hole bit with his brother... I don't want to spoil, but I will tell you this Katy saw Beth!!! Also Katy is able to do wired alien stuff and Blake knows what's going on. I can see disaster in the near future. Can't you?

Basically, This book has a lot of this

Katy's all like

You're all like

Daemons like

Yeah allot of that.... At the end it will be like this.

I cried just a little, but then something good happens and you're all like

Book Review #4: Touch (Denazen #1)

Touch (Denazen #1)

Review by: CookieMonstr
When a strange boy tumbles down a river embankment and lands at her feet, seventeen-year-old adrenaline junkie Deznee Cross snatches the opportunity to piss off her father by bringing the mysterious hottie with ice blue eyes home.
Except there’s something off with Kale. He wears her shoes in the shower, is overly fascinated with things like DVDs and vases, and acts like she’ll turn to dust if he touches her. It’s not until Dez’s father shows up, wielding a gun and knowing more about Kale than he should, that Dez realizes there’s more to this boy—and her father’s “law firm”—than she realized.
Kale has been a prisoner of Denazen Corporation—an organization devoted to collecting “special” kids known as Sixes and using them as weapons—his entire life. And, oh yeah, his touch? It kills. The two team up with a group of rogue Sixes hellbent on taking down Denazen before they’re caught and her father discovers the biggest secret of all. A secret Dez has spent her life keeping safe.

A secret Kale will kill to protect.

I LOVED THIS BOOK!!!!! LIKE THIS IS ONE OF MY FAVORITE BOOKS!!!!!
This book has the best romance, best story, best cover, Best kick butt girl, and most swoontastically, best guy!!!! BEST EVERYTHING!!!!!

Dez lives to piss off her sorry excuse for a father, and will do almost anything to get him angry. Like letting TOPLESS Kale come to her house after he STOLE  her shoes and a bunch of guys came looking for him. I love Dez and her sassy attitude. She's super smart and funny.

About Dezes fathers "law firm", You already know that it isn't really a law firm but a place where Dezes father takes these kids with abilities, and uses them to kill people *shakes head*. That's not even the worst part, When Kale refused to kill anyone they threatened to kill Sue (In horrible and painful ways).
 Mr. Cross

BTW Sue is kind of like mother to Kale. If I were Dez I would do a lot worse to my dad other then piss him off  *grins wickedly*

Now to my Fave Character, Kale. He is so Adorable and clueless.
I just Love him!!!!! One Minute he'll be I'm-A-cute-Guy-who-doesn't-know-what-a-DVD-IS and then I'm-the-super-hot-dude-here-to-kill-for-Dez.

Here's a quote:
„One down,” I said, turning to Kale. He wasn't paying attention. His gaze was fixed on the red silk baby doll in my hand.
„What is this?” he asked, rubbing the satiny material between his fingers.
„Clothes” I said. "For women.”
His eyes widened. "Girls wear this?”
"Yeah, but usually not for long” I chuckled.
Kale turned as red as the teddy. "Are you going to wear this now?”
"Umm. No,” I said, blushing.
He seemed a little disappointed and I stifled a laugh.”

SO ADORABLE!!!!

“He sat up straight, eyes wide, and touched the tip of his index finger to his cheek. "What was that?"
I blushed. "A kiss."
"That's what a kiss feels like?"
"Well, technically. There are a lot of different types of—"
"Show me."
"Show you what?"
"Show me some other kinds."
"You're asking me to kiss you?"
He nodded, hands curled over the edge of the bed. "Is that not right?"
I just LOVE Kale and his cuteness!!!

This book is a MUST READ. It has a total addicting quality such as Kale. The pace is great in the story line, the romance is great (thanks to Kale), all in all, this is a perfect book!!!

Unfortunately I didn't find this book anywhere for free so you'll have to buy it. Wah.

Book Review #3: Thirteen Reasons Why

Thirteen Reasons Why

by
Review by Emo:
Clay Jensen returns home from school to find a mysterious box with his name on it lying on his porch. Inside he discovers thirteen cassette tapes recorded by Hannah Baker, his classmate and crush who committed suicide two weeks earlier.
On tape, Hannah explains that there are thirteen reasons why she decided to end her life. Clay is one of them. If he listens, he'll find out how he made the list.
Through Hannah and Clay's dual narratives, debut author Jay Asher weaves an intricate and heartrending story of confusion and desperation that will deeply affect teen readers.

Thirteen Reasons Why was introduced to me by Almond, one of my friends (her name translates into Almond). She and I became quick friends, and we were on the subject of books when she suddenly said, "Hey, have you ever heard of Thirteen Reasons Why?" I said no, and she told me that it was a great book. Almond brought it to school the next day, and I started reading.

The book was frigging amazing. It starts out in a boy named Clay's perspective, and he receives a box of tape one day. He listens to them and finds out why his lover, Hannah Baker, committed suicide. It involves a lot of *ahem* events, including some guy snooping on her and a friend.

In the book, Hannah says, "Clay, honey, you don't deserve to be on this list." The 13 tapes that Clay got are the thirteen reasons why Hannah killed herself, and he's on the list. Clay actually had a huge crush on Hannah before she died, but only kissed her once, which he truly regrets.
So overall, this book made me gasp, cry, and (occasionally laughing). I would totally recommend this to anyone willing to read. I would rate this 5 McChicken nuggets out of 5 McChicken nuggets. Thank you!

-EMO

P.S. IT'S MY MOTHERFREAKING  BIRTHDAY!

Book Review #2: Significance (Significance #1)

Significance, Significance novel #1

Significance                                                                                                            by Shelly Crane

Review by CookieMonstr
Maggie is a seventeen year- old girl who's had a crappy year. She's smart and on her way, Then her mom leaves, her dad's diagnosed with depression, and her boyfriend dumps her for a college football scholarship. Lately all she thinks life's all about hanging on by a thread and is gripping tight with everything she has.

Then she saves the life of Celeb and instantly knows there's something about him that's intriguing. But everything changes when they touch, sparks, ignite, literally.

They imprint with each other and she sees their future life together flash before her eyes. She learns that not only is she his soul mate, and she can feel his heart beat next to hers, but there's a whole other world of people with gifts and abilities that she never knew existed. She herself is experiencing supernatural changes unlike anything she's felt like before and she needs the touch of Celebs skin to survive.

Now, not only has her dad come out of his funk and becoming a father again, and a pain, but Celebs enemies found out he has imprinted and are going after Maggie to stop them from gaining their abilities and take her from him.

In my opinion this book was awesome, and as my co-owner,Moo Moo Cow , would put it, hella good!!! At first when I read the description I was not intrigued by this book because of the whole insta-love thing so, I left it alone for a while. Soon I couldn't find any other books to read so I was like what the cookie, Why not? I couldn't put the book down until I finished it. Which was in about few hours. I'm just that awesome. Now most people hate insta-love, but the author made it work. The characters were well written and the plot is excellent. I give it a 5/5, and anybody who doesn't is as stupid as Moo Moo Cow. Sorry, Moo Moo.

Celeb is my favorite character. He was sweet and funny at times. Gran was one of the best, She was always hilarious. Once I laughed so hard I was crying, and almost peed myself. Kyle was not my fave in this book, he kept flirting with Maggie. I was hoping someone would knock some sense onto him, but I was very disappointed. Through out the whole book I just wanted to shout: Bro!!! She already imprinted!!!!! She doesn't want you!!!! When Kyle wasn't being a pain he was funny. I did feel sorry for him though. He loved Maggie like sense forever, but he gets his happiness. *Wink*

Now, I better explain the whole issue with Celeb's enemies. Basically they're a bunch of jealous farts who don't want the Jacobson clan to have anymore success. It's kind of funny how stupid they are. Even the imprints were taken away from the Jacobson so, if they get it back that means imprints are coming back. You're certainly not going to get your imprints by trying to Steal Maggie away, now are you?

Anyway, hope you liked this post. Moo edited this, credits to her. Well, she practically edits everything.

You can get this book for free at Smashwords. com. Unfortunately the other four books are not for free.

Book Review #1: Obsidian (Lux Novel #1)

Obsidian, Lux novel #1.

Obsidian
By Jennifer Armentrout
Review by Moo Moo Cow

Starting over sucks.

When we moved to West Virginia right before my senior year, I'd pretty much resigned myself to thick accents, dodgy internet access, and a whole lot of boring... until I spotted my hot neighbor, with his looming height and eerie green eyes. Things were looking up.

And then he opened his mouth.

Daemon is infuriating. Arrogant. Stab-worthy. We do not get along. At all. But when a stranger attacks me and Daemon literally freezes time with a wave of his hand, well, something... unexpected happens.

The hot alien living next door marks me.

You heard me. Alien. Turns out Daemon and his sister have a galaxy of enemies wanting to steal their abilities, and Daemon's touch has me lit up like the Vegas Strip. The only way I'm getting out of this alive is by sticking close to Daemon until my alien mojo fades.

If I don't kill him first, that is.

So this book was recommended to me by this cool girl, Cookiemonstr, the co-owner of this blog. Um, THANKS. This book has forever changed my opinion on hot dudes.
Anyway, I'm pretty sure anyone in the right mind would rate this book 5/5 stars, but some might not, those who don't are insane. Because this book is crazy good.

You can see how overprotective Daemon is of his sister and the bond over them after arriving to Earth when Lux blows up.

Most older siblings can kind of understand how Daemon feels for Dee, he doesn't want to see her hurt or in danger.
Now Daemon, once he meets Katy, and Katy turns into an accident prone-magnet to the Arum, anyone who has lived to at least age 10 can hear the annoyance in Daemon's voice when he talks to Katy. Literally. I mean, Katy gets the Luxen all in trouble. I kind of feel annoyed at Katy, but at the same time, you kind of feel bad for her. She didn't mean for this to happen.

One thing I didn't understand was who the DOD where, and I guess I was an idiot to not see that at the beginning because Cookiemonstr freaked out that I didn't know. You can't really blame me though, the book was so good I happened to stumble over it!

All jokes aside, this book is hella good. It has suspense, romance, and more importantly, it's Young Adult so anyone can read it.

By the way, Daemon has really good hair.

You can read all five books by searching Obsidian pdf, Onyx pdf, ect.
Moo Moo Cow, over and out.
